| News - Expert Gives Birth To Book |
East Fremantle resident Gabrielle Targett is no stranger to water births, after giving birth to all three of her children in this way.
Her experience led her to write the book A Labour of Love, which was published by the Fremantle Arts Centre Press recently.
The non-fiction book captures Targett's philosophy on the water-based technique, which she said led to an easier and more relaxed birth experience and minimised the intensity of contractions. "It can be free of pain and this method is so relaxed and stress free," she said.
Targett works as a childbirth educator and has taught women her hypnosis techniques.
She also attends births as a professional birth assistant.
The book covers in detail the various options available, from giving birth in a bath, at home or in hospital. |
